“I was born and raised in Powell River, and started my journey in health care by moving to Alberta and completing the Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) and Distribution program.

I worked as an MDR technician at the Foothill’s Medical Center for the following year, but it didn’t take me long to realize that home is where the heart is.

I couldn’t imagine being away from the west coast for any longer. So, I transferred jobs and worked briefly at The Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C.

I relocated back to my home town of Powell River soon after. This is where my career in pharmacy began.

After spending nine years in retail pharmacy, I knew that I wanted to expand my knowledge and skillset.

Upon successful completion of the examinations required by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada and the B.C. Jurisprudence examination, I was officially a licensed pharmacy technician with the College of Pharmacists of B.C. I was fortunate to get hired in pharmacy services at qathet General Hospital in 2018 in Powell River.

I have wide range of responsibilities including providing medication to patients,  as well as the sterile compounding of individualized chemotherapy/antibiotic IV preparations.

My colleagues are absolutely amazing and we work hard collaborating with other pharmacists, nurses, and physicians towards the common goal of best possible patient care.

I can honestly say that I love my job and I love serving the beautiful sunshine coast!

I feel very fortunate to be a part of this tight-knit community. It is the perfect place to raise my family. We spend most of our free time exploring the many stunning beaches this area has to offer, and as much time as possible at our family cabin on the lake.”
