Staff scheduling education and training opportunities
Are you wanting to pursue a career in Staff Scheduling at Fraser Health? We offer a comprehensive training program coupled with a practicum that enable individuals to successfully move into staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping services roles.
You must have a strong customer service orientation, superior organization, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a highly computerized environment utilizing Windows and other related software.
Kronos’ Workforce Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) Training
About the Introduction to ESP and Advanced ESP Training Programs
These opportunities are available for both internal Fraser Health employees and for external non-Fraser Health candidates who have prior scheduling experience and/or an interest in staff scheduling and who meet the noted prerequisites.
These courses introduce the learner to the Kronos’ Workforce ESP specialized scheduling software system and provides them with an opportunity to learn the skills necessary for staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping within the various collective agreements, policies, procedures, and guidelines applicable to Fraser Health.

Advanced ESP is intended for individuals interested in pursuing the opportunity to be trained on a dedicated Fraser Health Program Clerk or Scheduler portfolio. Please click here for a job description.
Successful completion of these courses does not guarantee employment with Fraser Health Staffing Services.
Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and those with permanent resident status. Employer support for BC PNP application is not an entitlement of, or guaranteed with, employment.
Introduction to ESP
You are eligible to apply to the Introduction to ESP Training Program if you meet the following criteria:
- Two week training commitment, including 100% attendance for in-person training sessions and all practicum shifts
- Grade 12 completion or equivalent
- Three (3) years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience within the last six (6) years, including: customer service, staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm
- Ability to operate MS Outlook and Word at an intermediate level and MS Excel at a beginner level
- Two (2) employer references including:
- One current manager and/or
- One previous manager within the last five (5) years and/or
- One instructor/preceptor within the last year

Applications for the Introduction to ESP Training Program are reviewed via the following process:
- Pre-screening application review
- Fraser Health Recruitment Services administered testing
- Fraser Health Staffing Services administered registration interview
- Two (2) employer reference checks
Course Fees
Please note that there is a non-refundable $500 course registration fee associated with this class. This course fee is payable at the time of confirmed registration into a training program cohort.
Course Evaluations
Please note that the minimum passing grade for this training program is 70%.
- You must successfully achieve a grade of 70% or higher on each assessment, in order to continue with the training program.
- Successful completion of the Introduction to ESP Training Program provides the prerequisite ESP knowledge for a Fraser Health Staffing Clerk role.

Advanced ESP
There is NO course fee associated with this class.
