“I started at Burnaby Hospital in 2011 as a pharmacy technician. In 2013, I became a pharmacist and completed my residency. Since then, I’ve continued to grow within the department through advanced education and training, and today I’m proud to lead a team of clinical pharmacists delivering excellent patient-centred care.
What I love most about my career is the ability to truly practice medicine. As a pharmacist in a community hospital, you’re part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. We work closely with physicians, nurses and other health professionals to make decisions that directly impact patient care — and that’s incredibly meaningful.
My days usually start by reviewing patient profiles and supporting clinical activities, while also ensuring scheduling and operational needs are covered. It’s a mix of leadership and hands-on clinical work, which I really enjoy.
Our Pharmacy team is close-knit. We support each other as much as we support our patients. Whether it’s running clubs, celebrating birthdays or just collaborating day to day, there’s a strong sense of connection here.
I’m especially excited about the Burnaby Hospital redevelopment. The new patient care areas will support privacy, rest and recovery — which leads to better outcomes. From a pharmacy perspective, moving into a newly renovated, larger pharmacy space will improve communication and teamwork.
I live on the North Shore, and Burnaby is an easy commute. Outside of work, I enjoy skiing with my kids, hiking and spending time at the beach. It’s a great balance of career and lifestyle.
Burnaby Hospital has given me the opportunity to grow, lead and be part of a team that truly cares — and I’m excited about what’s ahead.”
