Career tips Emma shares:
Know your values and ethics. Understand your values and ethics by taking the time to reflect deeply on them. When your work aligns with what excites you, it no longer feels like work.
Listen to your gut and trust it. Be curious, your intuition is often your best guide to know if something isn’t right.
Don’t take things personally. Often people’s actions are a reflection on themselves, so consider your part in this situation and let go of any emotion. Stay open and don’t make assumptions. Â
Learn to say no. Saying no can be hard, but it’s vital to respect your time and energy. Knowing your values helps with this, and practicing healthy boundaries allows you to focus on what truly matters. Saying no creates space for opportunities that align better with your priorities.Â
Seek feedback and keep learning. We learn more when we listen. Embrace diverse perspectives as they can open doors to new ideas and better ways of doing things. Every conversation is a chance to learn.Â
Celebrate your successes. Be your own best friend and stop with the negative self-talk. Be prepared to fail and keep a growth mindset. Each miss gets us closer to the goal.Â
Be confident yet humble. Know your strengths, own your worth, and be yourself, but also remain open to growth. Confidence should be rooted in self-awareness, and humility allows space for continuous learning and improvement.Â
