Giving empathic care to vulnerable people and families, meeting and building partnerships with people from all different backgrounds and cultures, and learning about cultural and generational experiences of life and death are just some of the things I love most about my nursing career and working in the intensive care unit (ICU).
My team is so supportive. [I am lucky to work with such] genuine coworkers who truly care about the little things. I joined this team less than a year ago, and have felt welcomed and encouraged every step of the way.
My managers have encouraged me to pursue further certifications including ER and ICU specializations through specialty nursing education. They are thoughtful, timely, and empathetic, and provide mentorship and support to new staff with grace and humility.
