“I love that I have the opportunity to ask patients and providers about what matters to them most, and help to make a difference for them. I love that I am involved in the art and science of quality, safety and the joy of improving patient and provider experience.
The Queen’s Park Care Centre team is made up of a dedicated group of professionals who bring various levels of skills and experiences. Despite being new to the site and to Canada, I developed a sense of belonging and respect, and my team has welcomed me so warmly. The comfortable work environment continues to create a space where I can speak openly without fear of judgement.
My team is so passionate about going that extra mile for their patients and that’s what makes them so special.
Coming from a clinical background, Fraser Health has given me the opportunity to expand on my interest and experience in clinical quality and patient safety. Testing and implementing changes in real settings and seeing how powerful this methodology can be to bring about amazing changes on a regional scale, keeps me rooted in this field. I have the chance to network and co-create with a diverse group who bring their varied experiences. We have a passionate group of quality gurus who believe in ‘teach more and learn more’. This is the best learning and practicing environment for those looking to build a career in quality and patient safety.
A lot of my job satisfaction comes a very supportive leadership team – they show they care about me as a person. We often have team building and recreational activities including lunch picnics and bowling events.”
Dipti resides in Burnaby in the Metrotown neighbourhood, which is home to a number of restaurants, parks, malls and high-rises. It makes living in the area interesting and convenient. Near to Metrotown is the serene and tranquil Central Park with, which offers a lot of greenery. An evening walk around the calming water is one of my favorite activities. This community gives you the best of both worlds!
What I love about living in the Fraser Health region are the limitless opportunities to explore the great outdoors. The region hosts many festivals, markets and tours and has many local dining venues, craft breweries and wineries. Most weekends my family and I enjoy the parks, kayaking at the lakes and hiking. I have also started ice skating classes to enjoy some wintertime sports.
