Hi! My name is Christine and I’m training to be one of Surrey Memorial Hospital’s (SMH) newest cardiovascular technologists.
I am so excited to be advancing my skills in acute cardiac care and collaborating with the rest of the team to bring this amazing service to life at SMH! It is such a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a new department and I’m excited to be contributing to something that will have lasting impacts on patient care.
Starting fresh in a new department can have its challenges but it is so rewarding to be learning alongside a group that brings different strengths, skills and experiences. I am grateful to my preceptors at Royal Columbian Hospital for being so supportive during my training.
The opening of the two new cardiac catheterization suites is a huge milestone for SMH and Fraser Health. Expanding access to advanced cardiac care is going to ensure that more patients are receiving timely, life-saving interventions closer to home. It’s inspiring to think about the difference this new program will make in our communities.
