“Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to work in a hospital. I was fascinated by how exciting medical shows were and wanted to be part of a fast paced team. I also love helping people and have always been interested in learning how and why things work the way they do. Pursuing a career in health care was a no-brainer.
The best thing about working at Surrey Memorial Hospital is definitely the people. From the high energy people on day shifts to the intimate conversations and team building on night shifts, working at Surrey Memorial Hospital is a lot of fun. It’s also an amazing opportunity to serve the community as a health care professional and see the positive changes we’re making. Surrey is growing at such a fast pace and Fraser Health has countless opportunities for health care providers to make a difference.
For the last year, I’ve been a respiratory therapist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I get to develop close connections with the families of the babies I care for. These connections are invaluable to me. It always brings a smile to my face when I see these babies grow and develop into healthy kids.”
Fraser Health is the heart of health care for over two million people in 20 diverse communities from Burnaby to Boston Bar on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Coast Salish and Nlaka’pamux Nations and is home to 32 First Nations within the Fraser Salish region.
