“In emergency nursing I get to see a little of everything – everyday is different from the last. Emergency nursing is the perfect place for developing your skills. When I entered into a transition line for the first time in the Emergency Department at Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH), I was a brand new registered nurse (RN). Far from being overwhelmed, it was a great environment to learn as a new graduate.
My advice to any new nursing graduates interested in specializing in emergency, is don’t be shy and come try it out! I think emergency nursing can sound more intimidating than it is, but it’s really an incredibly supportive environment at ERH. Port Moody is a great community to work in – with beautiful trails, parks, and plenty of social spaces – it’s the perfect backdrop for any outdoor activity.”
