Meet Fatima

In 2005, Fatima began her journey with Fraser Health. Combining her background in both the public and private sectors with her entrepreneurial endeavors, she has forged a unique path that enables her to profoundly influence the people and causes closest to her heart.

Valuable lessons Fatima shares that have helped shape her career:

• Passion as your north star: Identify what truly ignites your passion and align your career with it. Talk to people about it and share your vision with others.
• Embrace risk and failure: Don’t be afraid to take risks and embrace failure as a stepping stone to success. Failures bring humble lessons. Be open to it all.
• Resilience matters: Develop resilience and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Resilience keeps you grounded and focussed in times of uncertainty.
• Build a support network: Surround yourself with mentors, advisors, and a community that supports your vision. There’s room for everyone – connect with people who ignite your curiosity.
• Stay authentic: Stay true to your values and principles even when faced with pressure to conform. Difficult decisions are made easier when you put your values first.
• Continuous learning: Be open to learning and acquiring new skills throughout your journey. From formal education to conversations with your neighbour – learning takes place in a variety of forms.
• Your voice matters: Your perspective is power. Individual experiences and thoughts can inspire, influence action and be a catalyst for change. Take that proverbial mic and drop it!

Fatima is grateful to be raising her family on the traditional, ancestral and unceded shared territories of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Kwikwetlem, Semiahmoo and Tsawwassen First Nations, and home to the Surrey-Delta Métis Association.
