I first started at Fraser Health in 2023 as a registered nurse (RN). Since then, I was sponsored by Fraser Health for the Specialty Nursing Education Program and am now certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Working in direct patient care in the emergency department at Chilliwack General Hospital (CGH), I take care of patients of all ages from newborns to geriatric patients who come in with diverse health care needs.
When I’m asked about what I love most about my career, it’s interacting with my patients. Everyone is different and has something interesting to share about themselves!
I would highly recommend and welcome anyone wanting to join our amazing team in the emergency department at CGH. We all appreciate the challenging environment we work in, but we all come together as a cohesive team and remain patient with each other. I am never worried about the day ahead because I know my team will always have my back.
We have an amazing manager that checks in and works with us to ensure we show up as our best every day. She’s perfect for the job because she cares about every single person in the department. She is kind, considerate and the reason I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.
Living in Chilliwack, I am close to family and friends. I get to spend lots of time with my family and extended family, and spend a lot of time outdoors. We love all the parks and playgrounds Chilliwack has to offer. Chilliwack is the perfect small, big town. Small enough that you can live in the country to go hiking but five minutes away from the movie theater, breweries and many other amenities!
