Meditech Access
MEDITECH is the health care information system used in Fraser Health hospitals to electronically document, collect and share patient information.
All students in Fraser Health receive Meditech view access. This allows the student to see the patient’s electronic medical records.
Write access is when you use Meditech systems to document on patients. Write access is not needed at all Fraser Health sites and is profession-dependent. Students are required to complete additional education to have Meditech write access.

Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH)
Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) uses the MEDITECH Expanse electronic health record system.
All users must complete training before they can be granted access to the MEDITECH Expanse Live system.
Learners who have completed a MEDITECH Expanse or Advance Program Course in a previous rotation must sign up for the appropriate curriculum for subsequent rotations. Learners will not be required to re-take modules or classroom sessions completed previously.
All MEDITECH Expanse training will be completed in the MedPower learning management system.

Nursing
Step 1: User receives email with MedPower username and password to their Academic email address.
Step 2: User is automatically enrolled in a role-specific curriculum (including online and classroom, if applicable)
Step 3: User will choose the learning path within the curriculum that applies to them for their upcoming placement (e.g., Medical-Surgical Inpatient, Perioperative, Emergency)
Step 4: User logs into MedPower and completes online foundational training and signs up for classroom training (similar to LearningHub)
Any applicable classroom training MUST be completed to get access to MEDITECH Expanse LIVE.
Step 5: After completion of all the learning path components, the learner will receive access to MEDITECH Expanse live within approximately 2-5 days.
Non-nursing

For practicums ending after September 7, 2024
For students and instructors in student placements that start or continue AFTER Meditech Expanse is implemented at RCH September 7, 2024, you will be required to complete MEDITECH Expanse training.
Royal Columbian Hospital (ERH) uses the MEDITECH Expanse health care information system. All MEDITECH Expanse users must complete training prior to being granted access to the LIVE system. Learners who have completed a MEDITECH Expanse or Advance Program Course in a previous rotation must sign up for the appropriate curriculum for subsequent rotations. Learners will not be required to re-complete modules or classroom sessions that have been completed previously.
Step 1: Your Program Coordinator will provide you with a Fraser Health network log in and a MEDITECH Expanse account. An active MEDITECH Expanse TEST account with a user ID and password is required prior to attending classroom training.
Step 2: Ensure you have an active, updated LearningHub account affiliated with FHA. Visit the LearningHub Account Management page for more information.
Step 3: Curricula are determined by role and clinical area. Use the form below to find the right curriculum for you.

Step 4: Register and complete all required courses in LearningHub. You will automatically be granted access to MEDITECH Expanse LIVE after completing the appropriate curriculum.
Step 5: Follow your Post-Secondary Institution procedures for reporting completion.
