Meditech Access

MEDITECH is the health care information system used in Fraser Health hospitals to electronically document, collect and share patient information.

All students in Fraser Health receive Meditech view access. This allows the student to see the patient’s electronic medical records.

Write access is when you use Meditech systems to document on patients. Write access is not needed at all Fraser Health sites and is profession-dependent. Students are required to complete additional education to have Meditech write access.

Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH)

Delta Hospital (DH)

Meditech training for Delta Hospital uses the MEDITECH Client/Server health care information system. Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH)

Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) uses the MEDITECH Expanse electronic health record system.

All users must complete training before they can be granted access to the MEDITECH Expanse Live system. 

Learners who have completed a MEDITECH Expanse or Advance Program Course in a previous rotation must sign up for the appropriate curriculum for subsequent rotations. Learners will not be required to re-take modules or classroom sessions completed previously.

All MEDITECH Expanse training will be completed in the MedPower learning management system.

  • All emails for MedPower learning will come from support@medpower.org
MedPower Learning Journey for Students

Nursing

Step 1: User receives email with MedPower username and password to their Academic email address.

Step 2: User is automatically enrolled in a role-specific curriculum.

Step 3: User will choose the learning path within the curriculum that applies to them for their upcoming placement (e.g., Medical-Surgical Inpatient, Perioperative, Emergency)

Step 4: User logs into MedPower and completes online foundational training (similar to LearningHub)

Completion of the entire online eLearning path will be required for access in the live Expanse system.

Step 5: After completion of all the learning path components, the learner will receive access to MEDITECH Expanse live within approximately 2-5 days.

Non-nursing

Step 1: User receives email with MedPower username and password to their Academic email address.

Step 2: User is automatically enrolled in a role-specific curriculum.

Step 3: User will already be enrolled in the learning path within the curriculum that applies to them.

Step 4: User logs into MedPower and completes online foundational training (similar to LearningHub)
