I work as a diagnostic medical sonographer and an echocardiographer at Eagle Ridge Hospital.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and was drawn to a stable and fulfilling career in health care. This led me to pursue the hybrid Sonography Program through British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
I have over 12 years of experience performing ultrasounds. Most people associate ultrasounds with pregnancy, but it’s used for much more than just imaging babies. I specialize in both general and cardiac ultrasound, using sound waves to produce real-time images that help diagnose and monitor various medical conditions. In general ultrasound, I perform scans like abdominal, pelvic, vascular and musculoskeletal imaging. As an echocardiographer, I focus on assessing heart structures and function.
What I love most about my role is that each day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn. I have the privilege of collaborating with a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering quality patient care and I take pride in contributing to meaningful outcomes through diagnostic imaging.
Fraser Health has been a fantastic place to grow professionally. The collaboration between departments, opportunities for leadership and support for continuing education have all played a big role in my development. I’ve had the opportunity to mentor others, contribute to quality improvement projects and help implement new technology to enhance patient care.
Being a part of Fraser Health allows me to grow professionally while making a tangible difference in patients’ lives.
