I work as a mental health care worker at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre and have worked at Fraser Health for over 25 years across many different units. I love being able to connect with other areas [in the hospital] and the flexible work schedules.
One of the many things I appreciate about where I work is the ‘teamwork’ culture. I’m really proud of how welcoming our teams are and how well we work together to continuously seek ways to improve the safety of our units. I also love that [staff] are encouraged to utilize Fraser Health’s learning modules and resources, and participate in activities – all of which have helped me grow in my career.
Abbotsford is a great community to work in, and the hospital is close to the beautiful Mill Lake Park. When I’m not at work, I enjoy reading and being outside walking with my dog and children. I live in Langley (a neighbouring city), and love the fact you can walk to the grocery store and buy local products.
Fraser Health is the heart of health care for over two million people in 20 diverse communities from Burnaby to Boston Bar on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Coast Salish and Nlaka’pamux Nations and is home to 32 First Nations within the Fraser Salish region.
Our hospital and community-based services are delivered by a team of 48,000+ staff, medical staff and volunteers dedicated to serving our patients, families and communities.
