Working as a nursing unit clerk in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Royal Columbian Hospital, we help and support each another by ensuring smooth operational flow within our teams. In the ICU, each patient journey has deepened my understanding of the importance of health. I love that I am able to assist in the optimization of patient and family-centred care.
[The unit] has positive atmosphere where I feel supported by my team. There are times when someone will check in and ask, “Do you need help with that?”. Everyone is respectful, inclusive and non-judgmental.
Living in the Fraser Health region, we have a variety of activities to choose from. There are mountains, lakes, parks and indoor activities. Everything is close in proximity to stores, public transport, restaurants and more. During my time off, I enjoy going to parks, hiking or reading books.
Fraser Health is the heart of health care for over two million people in 20 diverse communities from Burnaby to Boston Bar on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Coast Salish and Nlaka’pamux Nations and is home to 32 First Nations within the Fraser Salish region.
Our hospital and community-based services are delivered by a team of 48,000+ staff, medical staff and volunteers dedicated to serving our patients, families and communities.
