Bal started her journey with Fraser Health as a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) student, where she was hired on as an employed student nurse (ESN ). She is now a registered nurse (RN) working towards completing BCIT’s Pediatric Emergency Specialty program, and is currently working with the Pediatric Emergency (ER) team at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH).
She describes a day at work as “lively, interactive, and exciting”.
“The diversity and multiculturalism of the staff and clients we work with is something [I am most proud of]. The SMH Pediatric Emergency is a diverse unit that specializes in the care of acutely ill children. It allows us to work with children and their families and promote health and well-being.”
