As a Knowledge Translation Specialist you will utilize your training and education to develop, implement and evaluate the knowledge translation (KT) strategy for patient-oriented health research in Fraser Health. You will be an expert in and be able to apply scientific methodologies for the transfer of research results into practice. In addition, you will be involved with patients and researchers in order to ensure that multidisciplinary research teams are trained in knowledge translation methods.

Build on your career and education as you:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the knowledge translation (KT) strategy for patient-oriented research in Fraser Health by working with all Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) partners.
  • Teach skill development workshops on the science of KT, KT frameworks, research using KT methods and analysis of KT outputs and outcomes. Develop supporting research/KT educational materials.
  • Support collaborations and partnerships within and across clinical, research, and policy arenas to improve the generation and use of research knowledge; participates in regional, provincial and national research capacity building and knowledge translation networks and organizations.
  • Delineate logic models for KT implementation to track how improvements in the quality of evidence used to develop clinical protocols (e.g. clinical decision support tools) can be attributed to the KT intervention
  • Remain current in the knowledge of best evidence-informed models for KT by collaborating with the Knowledge Translation and Implementation Methods Cluster of the BC SUPPORT Unit as required.
  • Assesses readiness of Fraser Health as a service delivery organization to utilize KT. Works collaboratively with Fraser Health Library Services to promote the utilization of evidence for clinical decision support tools and clinical policies.

We will be looking for you to have:

  • Master's degree in a health science related field.
  • Five (5) years' recent, related experience working within or directly with a health care system

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

This regular full-time position is based at our Central City offices in Surrey, BC, with access to rapid transit, shopping, restaurants, on-site gym and other amenities.
