We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic as a dedicated Occupational Therapist to our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Program based out of New Westminster, British Columbia. This program provides intensive, individualized outreach mental health services for adults with serious and persistent mental illness including assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and support.

Build on your education and career experience as you:

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver rehabilitation services including assessment, intervention, consultation, education, and support related to occupational performance;
  • Identify and provide in-service education to service providers and assist in crafting new training workshops to meet identified training needs related to rehabilitation;
  • Provide consultation, referral, and linking support to facilitate the client’s effective entry and participation in life skills, education, employment, and leisure programs;
  • Assist the client to determine the best way of achieving the desired results and liaise with community-based agencies to ensure support for clients;
  • Participate in quality improvement activities such as program monitoring and evaluation on an ongoing basis to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

To join our team you have:

  • Graduated from an approved school of Occupational Therapy
  • Two (2) years' recent experience working with psychiatric clients in an acute or community psychiatric setting
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
