We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in our soon to open Urgent Primary Care Centre (UPCC) located in North Surrey, British Columbia. This UPCC is one of the first in BC and will provide Primary Care to a range of vulnerable and complex populations including: families, complex frail adults and people with mental health and substance challenges. Clients will be seen in both schedule and “walk-in” capacity resulting in a fast-paced environment that will require flexibility from all team members.

  • Work with a high functioning collaborative team as an expert practitioner along with GPs, Social Workers, Mental Health Clinicians, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists and Medical Office Assistants.
  • Provide comprehensive care for complex populations in concert with a team of clinicians.
  • Offer professional mentorship to other health providers and practices autonomously and interdependently within the context of an interdisciplinary health care team, making referrals to specialist physicians and others as appropriate.
  • Identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for patients/clients/residents, families and communities; develops and implements population and evidence based strategies to improve health and participates in policy-making activities that influence health services and practices.
  • Participate in peer review and self-review to evaluate the outcome of services at the patient/client/resident, community and population level.

  1. Prescribing drugs within regulatory scope for Nurse Practitioners and within applicable standard methodologies set by Fraser Health.
  2. Overseeing the ongoing care and order appropriate screening diagnostic investigations while you interpret reports of investigations and analyzes information to identify progress and plan patient treatment.
  3. Working closely with an inter-disciplinary team at the Urgent Primary Care Centre.

  • Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC)
  • Relevant, clinical nursing experience

Daily shift times are 0930 to 1730 with rotational days to cover weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays.
