Do you have a passion for nursing? Are you a nurse with training and experience in a community or hospital psychiatric setting? We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse in our Psychosis Treatment Optimization Program (PTOP).

Build on your career experience by:

  • Providing direct nursing care in the screening, assessment and provision of care to complex psychotic clients
  • Assisting in identifying the number of clients that will be diagnosed
  • Overseeing blood tests and other laboratory results for adverse effects of medication and immediately taking appropriate action alongside the psychiatrist and in accordance with Fraser Health protocols
  • Liaising with the PTOP, Mental Health Centres and Hospital Inpatient Units across Fraser Health to identify treatment resistant psychosis clients in order to optimize their treatments
  • Providing ongoing support for clinical staff, clients and their families
  • Participating in clinical research and program evaluation opportunities
  • Assessing patients using collaborative care principles and participate in the development of care plans
  • Working together and in partnership with the interprofessional care team in the provision of person-centered and recovery oriented care

 

Your background includes:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
  • Two (2) years recent, related experience in a community or hospital psychiatric setting
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses' of British Columbia (CRNBC) and/or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC)
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle, with appropriate business insurance coverage

 

This role is a full time position at located in Surrey, BC. Surrey is one of Canada’s fastest growing cities and its land mass makes it the largest city in the province, equal to the size of Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby combined. Known as the City of Parks, Surrey has over 6,000 acres of parkland and 15 golf courses and driving ranges.
