Bring your skills, passion and expertise with practice transition, education, orientation, mentorship and practice support consultation to an exciting opportunity with our team in Professional Practice. This role requires creative initiative, vision and strategic leadership with British Columbia’s fastest growing health authority.

In this key role, you will: 

  • Utilize your exceptional transformational leadership, adult education and operational expertise to lead a collaborative team to strategically plan, implement, evaluate and maintain the infrastructure, curriculum, policy and processes related to Practice Transition of newly hired healthcare providers, including the Fraser Health's Practice Start Program, Mentorship Program, Employed Student Nurse and practice transition services.
  • Work in collaboration with the health team to establish Fraser Health as a provincial leader in practice transition, mentorship and competency-based learning within all healthcare professions and sectors, acute and community.
  • Strategically align Fraser Health-wide programs for point-of-care leaders (e.g., Patient Care Coordinators, Practice Leaders, and Charge Nurses) to achieve excellence in practice and patient care.
  • Be accountable for the outcomes of the Practice Transition-related programs and ensuring evidence-informed practices across Fraser Health are used to support effective assessment, orientation, and mentorship experience for staffs’ practice transitions, including Employed Student Nurses, New Graduate Nurses and Allied staff. 

Your demonstrated, advanced competency in leading change and building collaborative partnerships, in education theory and in customer service orientation are skills critical to your success.

As the successful candidate you have a Master's Degree in nursing, education, or a health care related field and seven years recent, related experience in a complex health care environment including progressive professional practice, education, project management and leadership experience.  You have current practicing registration or certification with the relevant regulatory college and/or professional association in British Columbia.

This position is based at our Central City offices in Surrey, B.C.
