Kronos’ Workforce ESP Training

Kronos’ Workforce ESP is a specialized scheduling software system utilized by FH for staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping services. FH Workforce Optimization Staffing Services offers three distinct training programs for individuals interested in learning Kronos’ Workforce ESP.

Introduction to ESP Training Program
  • This opportunity is both for internal Fraser Health Authority (FH) employees and for external non-FH candidates who have prior scheduling experience and/or an interest in staff scheduling and who meet the noted prerequisites.

Advanced ESP Training Program
  • This opportunity is both for internal Fraser Health Authority (FH) employees and for external non-FH candidates who have prior scheduling experience and/or an interest in staff scheduling and who meet the noted prerequisites.

Introduction to ESP Training Program

The Introduction to ESP Training Program introduces the learner to Kronos’ Workforce ESP specialized scheduling software system and provides them with an opportunity to learn the skills necessary for staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping within the various collective agreements, applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines applicable to FH. This program is intended for individuals interested in pursuing opportunities in staff scheduling.
  • Successful completion of this course does not guarantee employment with Fraser Health Staffing Services.
Applications for Registration will be reviewed to assess the following pre-requisites:
  • Grade 12 Completion
  • Three (3) years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience within the last six (6) years, including:
    • Customer Service Experience
    • Staffing Experience
    • Scheduling Experience
    • Timekeeping Experience
    • Post-secondary Education
  • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Verbally
    • In writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
    • Intermediate level MS Outlook proficiency
    • Intermediate level MS Word proficiency
    • Beginner level MS Excel proficiency
  • Two (2) Employer References including:
    • One current manager
    • One additional manager/supervisor from a previous employer within the last five years.
    • If you have completed a related educational program within the last year, we can also use an instructor/preceptor from your final placement.

  • Pre-screening Application Review
  • FH Recruitment Services administered Testing
  • FH Staffing Services administered Registration Interview
  • Two (2) Employer Reference Checks

Please note that there is a non-refundable $500 course fee associated with this class.
  • This course fee is payable at the time of confirmed registration into a Training Program Cohort.
  • The Course registration fee is non-refundable.
As this class is condensed in format, 100% attendance is mandatory for all In-class Training sessions.
  • 100% completion of the required number of practicum shifts is also mandatory.
Applicants are responsible for requesting time off (if required) from their current manager / place of employment to enable 100% attendance in the Training Program and Practicum.

No compensation is provided for attendance in this training program (classroom or practicum).
Please note that the minimum passing grade for this Training Program is 70%.
  • You must successfully achieve a grade of 70% or higher on each assessment, in order to continue with the Training Program.
The Introduction to ESP Training Program includes:
  • 1 week of Self-Scheduled Pre-Class training with Pre-Class Exam
  • 1 week of in-class training
    • Monday – Friday
    • 5 hrs / day
    • at Central City in Surrey
    • End of Class Exam on Friday
  • 2 weeks for completion of Practicum Training
    • 5 Sessions
    • 4 hrs / session o
    • at Royal City Centre Shortcall Centre in New Westminster
    • Practicum Assessment on final day
  • Final Exam
    • 4 hours
    • at Central City in Surrey
Successful completion of the Introduction to ESP Training Program provides the prerequisite ESP knowledge for a FH Staffing Clerk role.

Advanced ESP Training Program

The Advanced ESP Training Program introduces the learner to the full staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping functionality of Kronos’ Workforce ESP specialized scheduling software system and provides them with an opportunity to learn the skills necessary for staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping within the various collective agreements, applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines applicable to FH for a dedicated portfolio.

This program is intended for individuals interested in pursuing opportunities in staff scheduling.
  • Successful completion of this course does not guarantee employment with Fraser Health Staffing Services.
Applications for Registration will be reviewed to assess the following pre-requisites:
  • Successful Completion of the Introduction to ESP Training Program
  • Final grade of 90% or higher on the Introduction to ESP Training Program Final Exam
Applications for the Advanced ESP Training Program can be submitted directly to StaffingEducation@fraserhealth.ca.
